Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), a malignant neoplasm derived from squamous epithelium, accounts for 90 to 94% of oral cavity cancers. Fifty percent of intraoral SCC lesions are located on the tongue, primarily along the lateral borders. Therefore, it is uncommon to find it in areas such as the junction of the tongue and the floor of the mouth, or on the dorsum of the tongue. We present the clinical case of a squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue border in a 57-year-old male patient with a history of substance abuse and dental trauma. The diagnosis was made based on the clinical lesions and confirmed by histopathology.References
