Ameloblastoma is a benign odontogenic epithelial tumor characterized by a high recurrence rate. It is locally aggressive and exhibits unlimited growth potential. The molecular and genetic factors underlying the oncogenic transformation of odontogenic epithelium into ameloblastoma are strongly associated with the deregulation of multiple genes. Approximately 80% of ameloblastomas arise in the molar and mandibular ramus regions, whereas about 20% occur in the posterior maxilla. This report describes a case of hybrid ameloblastoma in an uncommon location in a 76-yearold man with a 20-year clinical history.References
